

8 c. sliced apples
1/4 c. orange juice
1 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. butter
dash salt
Mound apples in buttered pie plate or casserole dish. Sprinkle with orange juice.
Topping: Combine sugar, flour, spices and cut in butter until mixture is crumbly then spoon over apples. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes or until apples are done and topping is crisp.
Hint: use more than one kind of apple, some or all tart
