Miss Pam's Pumpkin Pie

2 c. cooked pumpkin
1 1/2 c. condensed milk
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. butter, melted
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
2 eggs slightly beaten
1 pie shell

Combine and pour the mixture into pie shell. Bake 15 minutes at 425 degrees, then reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake about 45 minutes longer, until an inserted knife comes out clean.

Hints: Use cheese pumpkin or butter squash. To cook pumpkin, wash and cut in half crosswise. Remove seeds and string. Place shell side up in a pan. Bake at 375 degrees until it is tender and begins to fall apart. Scrape the pulp from the shell and put it through a ricer or blender. Extra freezes well.
