1 medium winter squash (acorn, butternut, or delicata)
3 c. sliced apples
1/2 c. maple syrup or brown sugar
1/4 c. butter, melted
1 Tb flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/4 c. chopped walnuts
Wash squash, cut in half lengthwise, take out seeds, peel and cut into small chunks. Stir sugar or syrup, butter, flour, salt and nutmeg together. Arrange squash in an ungreased baking dish. Place apples sliced on top. Sprinkle sugar mixture and nuts over apples. Cover with foil. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes or until squash is tender.
