CSA Means Fresh Fruits and Vegetables All Summer & Fall!

For our 11th season, we are pleased to offer our version of the CSA (community supported agriculture) , Melick’s Town Farm Family Share Program. Due to popular request, we are offering this program to provide families from July through November, 22 weeks of our own fruits and vegetables when they are in bountiful supply at the farm.

Participants with paid registration will receive a discount card good on Melick’s fresh produce, including pick your own, all season long! Original size shares receive 15% discount card, reduced size share receive 10% discount card.

Why Melick’s Town Farm Family Share Plan?

What is different about our Family Share Program from many other CSA’s is that as North and Central Jersey’s largest tree fruit grower, you can expect a large part of your weekly bounty will be fruit. Most CSA’s are offered by smaller farms that primarily grow vegetables.

In a CSA, you pre-pay for a share of the season’s harvest. With over 300 acres, a wide range of crops and ten generations of experience in farming, there is little risk that you will not be pleased with our weekly offerings.

As a pre-paying shareholder you will benefit from volume discounts and over the season receive more produce than if you shopped outside the program. Also, if you sign up before the end of April, you will receive valuable coupons for pick your own and other produce purchases.

What to Expect in Your Basket

Our Family Share Plan will start in July when peaches and sweet corn are ready to be picked. During July and August, your share would likely include peaches, corn and perhaps, plums, nectarines, peppers, zucchini, eggplant, potatoes, lettuce and cucumbers, whatever is in abundant supply at the farm.

Since we grow over 40 acres of peaches and 25 acres of corn, you can reasonably expect that you would receive these each week that they are in season.

In August, tomatoes are also in full swing and we begin to pick the many varieties of our famous heirloom tomatoes.

During September, corn, peaches and tomatoes persist but we also begin to press our fresh premium apple cider and start the fall apple season with Macouns, Empire, Cortland, early Fuji and more.

In October and November we still have many varieties of apples, apple cider, winter squashes and cold hardy vegetables such as brussel sprouts, cabbage and potatoes.

How does it work?

When you register, you chose one location, day, and share size. Then, each week from July through November, pick up your share when and where you have chosen.

Pick locations and dates are as follows:
